Students advised in making sound decisions when drinking around campus

RENO, Nev. – With the Halloween holiday approaching and the return of dark, cold nights, the University Police Department and the Reno Police Department are doing more to help with the serious problem of alcohol abuse by increasing enforcement of drinking laws and issuing citations on and around campus during random weekends this fall. For students who have been issued citations, a University of Nevada, Reno program titled Brief Alcohol Screening and Intervention for College Students (BASICS) is aimed at helping them reduce risky behaviors and harmful consequences of drinking. ...    more
