Clean Energy at the University

The University of Nevada, Reno’s efforts in the development of innovative Clean Energy endeavors and the dispersal of this knowledge is both extensive and unique. The Renewable Energy Center has brought together four of the University’s colleges (Engineering, Science, Agriculture, Biotechnology and Natural Resources, and Business) to coordinate interdisciplinary Clean Energy research, instruction and outreach in this field. This interdisciplinary approach is emblematic of a larger renewable energy culture on campus that has led to the development of 24 licensable technologies in the area of Clean Energy, in areas that include solar, hydrogen, biomass, geothermal and power grid.
